Mentoring

Dr. Kovar is a career and research mentor. Her career interests include patient-centered care (especially for socially complex patients), academic-community partnerships, teaching (especially "softer" skills like communication, health systems navigation and reflective practic), navigating the different domains that make the care of older adults so complex, and understanding the needs of both patients and caregivers. Her personal interests include learning (she is married to a former 7th grade science teacher/current assistant principal), spending time with her two boys, podcasts and audiobooks (she's still in a book club with people from high school), curling (she's in a league at Baxter Arena), and exploring food, concerts and other activities around Omaha.
