Dr. Abbas is an assistant professor of Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. She specializes in the care of immunocompromised patients, including recipients of hematopoietic stem cell transplants, cellular therapies, hematologic malignancies and recipients of solid organ transplants. Dr. Abbas serves as the Associated Program Director for the Infectious Diseases fellowship and is passionate about medical education. Her research interests include viral and fungal infections in immunocompromised hosts. She has served as the principal investigator of multiple industry sponsored clinical trials. Dr. Abbas received her medical degree from FMH College of Medicine and Dentistry in Pakistan. She completed internal medicine residency, chief residency and infectious disease fellowship at Creighton University in Omaha, NE. Dr. Abbas went on to complete a specialized Transplant Infectious Disease fellowship at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Cleveland, Ohio. She is board certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
