Sias Scherger, MD

Dr. Sias J. Scherger is an assistant professor of internal medicine and infectious diseases at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. His clinical interests focus on the evaluation and management of infections in immunocompromised patients, including solid organ transplant recipients, hematopoietic stem cell transplant recipients, and individuals with hematologic malignancies. He also has a particular interest in the pathophysiology of sepsis. Dr. Scherger is actively involved in several interventional clinical trials, serves as a Director of Academic Advising for medical students, and is Core Faculty for the ID Fellowship Program. He earned his medical degree from the University of Nebraska Medical Center, completed his residency at Wake Forest Baptist Health, and pursued advanced fellowship training in infectious diseases at the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus. He is board certified in both Internal Medicine and Infectious Diseases.
