Dr. Swindells is a professor of internal medicine in the UNMC Division of Infectious Diseases. A native of England, Dr. Swindells earned her medical degree from University College London in 1977, with postgraduate training in England and at the University of Washington in Seattle.
As a clinician and active researcher, Dr. Swindells has had many years of experience in translational and clinical research, including on the leadership of the AIDS Clinical Trials Group of the National Institutes of Health and as a member of the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services Panel on Antiretroviral Guidelines and the NIH COVID-19 Treatment Guidelines Panel.
