Dr. Andrea Zimmer is an Associate Professor in the UNMC Division of Infectious Diseases and Medical Director of the Oncology Infectious Diseases Program at the Fred and Pamela Buffett Cancer Center and University of Nebraska Medical Center. Dr. Zimmer’s clinical and research interests include the prevention and treatment of infections in patients receiving cancer therapies, particularly hematopoietic stem cell transplantation or cellular therapy for hematologic malignancies.
Dr. Zimmer is the Associate Vice Chair for Faculty Development in the Department of Internal Medicine, Co-Director of the Microbiology and Infectious Diseases blocks for preclinical medical students, and a co-author of the Prevention and Treatment of Cancer-Related Infections guidelines for the National Comprehensive Cancer Care Network.
