Shweta Kukrety, MBBS

Dr. Kukrety is an assistant professor in the pulmonary, critical care and sleep medicine division at the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

Dr. Kukrety was born and raised in Mumbai, India, and did most of her schooling in Africa, giving her a unique opportunity to work closely with people from different cultures. Dr. Kukrety then moved back to Mumbai to complete her medical education. After finishing medical school, she completed internal medicine residency at Creighton University and then completed fellowship training (chief fellow) in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Iowa. Following this, Dr. Kukrety accepted a transplant pulmonary and ECMO fellowship at the University of Florida, one of largest lung transplant programs in the country. Her clinical interests include lung transplantation, critical care medicine, point of care ultrasound and extra-corporeal life support and her research interests include short- and long-term outcomes in lung transplantation.
