Why I chose a PhD in nursing:

The possibilities are endless with a terminal nursing degree. I have always asked “why” we do the things we do, and I felt this program will allow me to explore nursing on a deeper level and actually drive change.

Research/professional interests:

Homelessness, veterans, sexual assault, mental health.

What I like about UNMC:

I love that UNMC is constantly striving for seeking new innovative research in changing how healthcare occurs. UNMC was close to home, and I knew that they would provide me with the education and tools to be successful in any role I move into in the future.

Professional memberships:

  • Sigma Theta Tau Member International Honor Society of Nursing (Gammi Pi)

Three things people may not know about me:

  • My favorite animal is sloths (I have a tattoo of one)
  • I like to go roller-skating in my free time
  • I coach club volleyball throughout the year
