Workshop
Our center holds an annual workshop: The Essentials of Staphylococcal Genetics and Metabolism.
The workshop, supported with funds from the UNMC Department of Pathology, Microbiology, and Immunology, presents participants with an advanced understanding of the genetic and metabolic techniques commonly used by the staphylococcal research community. These techniques include bacterial cell culture and interpretation of metabolite analysis, transduction, allelic replacement methodologies and use of the Nebraska Transposon Mutant Library. The 2025 workshop will be held July 13-18.
Participants
The workshop will admit pre-doctoral and postdoctoral trainees, new investigators, and other lab staff interested in enhancing their knowledge base and technical skills in staphylococcal genetics and metabolism.
Applications
The application process is closed for the 2025 workshop.
Registration/accommodation
The cost of the workshop will be $1,100 to cover the cost of supplies, as well as accommodations at the Kimpton Cottonwood Hotel in Omaha's Blackstone District.
