Dr. Hames
As a pediatric cardiac intensivist, I take care of children with congenital and acquired heart disease when they are at a vulnerable point in the intensive care unit. It is a privilege to be on the care team for these patients and partner with their families during their recovery. My primary research interest focuses on leveraging large, continuous data streams and risk analytics algorithms to improve the clinical care of patients at the bedside. I am interested in utilizing this work to create data-driven quality improvement processes that foster teamwork and enhance care delivery for critically ill children with heart disease. I work with a great team in the Heart Center that focuses on creating systems-level changes to improve outcomes for children receiving care in the Cardiac Care Unit.
