Many of the approaches and lessons learned from working overseas are directly relevant to our own underserved populations in Nebraska. Addressing health disparity and applying tools of health promotion are as important in our own backyard as they are in resource-challenged nations. Working closely with experts at the rural health network, the Center for Reducing Health Disparities, and the Department of Health Promotion, the Center fosters collaborative community-driven research and service to all parts of the globe we call “home”.
