Projects

A Project in Stratocore PPMS links all research-related activities, financial tracking, and user access within a lab or research group. Researchers can initiate and manage scientific projects to track research activities, monitor usage and charges, and maintain project status visibility.

What you can do with a project

Coordinate Activities
Link service requests, training sessions, and instrument bookings directly to a project for centralized tracking and organization.
Track Usage and Costs
View detailed logs of who used what, when, and the cost broken down by service, instrument, or user.
Generate Reports
Export usage summaries, financial reports, and activity logs for grant reporting or internal reviews.
Monitor Progress
Track project milestones and status to stay aligned with goals and timelines.
Facilitate Communication
Send messages to members directly within Stratocore PPMS to coordinate activities, share updates, and maintain a record of project-related discussions.

The general steps to request a project are outlined below. If a project uses multiple cores in Stratocore PPMS, please reach out to StratocorePPMS@unmc.edu.

Important: Each core has its own specific procedures and requirements. All researchers must review and follow core-specific guidance. Guidance may be found in the the banner section on the core’s homepage within Stratocore PPMS. If you have any questions or need clarification, please contact the core facility directly.

How to request a project

Go to Stratocore PPMS
Select the correct facility under Facilities available in University of Nebraska Medical Center and log in with your UNMC credentials
From Home, find the Make a new request, and select request/start a new project
Provide request details
Compete project intake form*
Click Submit request

Once submitted, the facility staff will review the project request. When approved, users can view the project on the home page in the "My Projects" widget. Once a project is approved, newly requested services and reservations can be associated with the project.

*Researchers must have a valid account number linked to their Stratocore PPMS profile in order to request a project. If you’re unsure about your account setup, please contact your lab group manager or financial account manager for assistance.
