Dr. Ibrahimiye is a graduate of Duke University where he majored in biology and German literature. After Duke, he moved to New York and received his medical degree from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
He completed the general surgery and cardiothoracic surgery residency programs at Columbia University Medical Center. He briefly moved to Northern California, where he did a two year congenital cardiac surgery fellowship under the supervision of Dr. Frank Hanley. He joined UNMC and Children’s Nebraska in July of 2016. Dr. Ibrahimiye is board certified in surgery and thoracic surgery. He has been listed as one of the top surgeons in America and received companionate physicians and patients choice awards from vitals.com
Dr. Ibrahimiye is a congenital cardiac surgeon. As a congenital cardiac surgeon he takes care of patients ranging from premature neonates to adults. He specializes in neonatal cardiac surgery and pulmonary artery rehabilitation. He is also the surgical director of Adult Congenital Heart Disease Program.
He lives in Omaha with his family and is an avid tennis player and skier.
