University of Nebraska Medical Center

The Department of Surgery supports and encourages our divisions to embody the mission of both the department and the University of Nebraska Medical Center.

To facilitate this, we have outlined and strive to achieve four goals:

  • Pursue state-of-the-art advances in clinical care, education, and research.
  • Be leaders, advocates, mentors, and role models for the Department of Surgery.
  • Train the next generation of surgeons and surgical scientists.
  • Be fiscally responsible.

The Department of Surgery comprises 11 divisions.
