Stephen Mohring, MD
Dr. Mohring is an internal medicine primary care physician-educator and health care leader. He completed both medical education and residency training at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in Omaha. After completing training, he began work as an assistant professor and attending physician for UNMC and Nebraska Medicine.

Through his work in medical direction for the Patient-Centered Medical Home (PCMH) transformation, all of Nebraska Medicine’s primary care clinics have received PCMH accreditation by the Joint Commission. He has also led Nebraska Medicine’s Population Health efforts, improving the health of the population served and achieving continued shared savings success in multiple value-based contracts. He also devotes time and energy to several research areas, including a Geriatric Workforce Enhancement Program grant and a privately funded effort to transform diabetes care and prevention in Nebraska.

Currently, he balances his time between an active clinic schedule, teaching medical students and residents, and medical direction for the Patient-Centered Medical Home and Population Health programs.
