David O'Dell
Dr. O’Dell is the LeeRoy Meyer Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at the University of Nebraska Medical Center. He has been Director of Undergraduate Education for the Department of Internal Medicine since 1991 and served as junior clerkship director for many years. He has been co-director of the primary care residency program since 1989 and a long-standing member of the college of medicine’s curriculum committee. He is currently serving as Phase 3 director of UNMC’s new medical school curriculum. He has won numerous teaching awards from students, and residents and is recognized by his colleagues at the state and national levels.

Dr. O’Dell began his training in family medicine before switching to internal medicine and stayed on as Chief Resident before joining UNMC’s faculty. He sees patients at both the main campus and with the primary care residents in Bellevue and takes care of inpatients at the Omaha VA Medical Center three months each year.
