Dr. Joe Pachunka

Dr. Joe Pachunka is a native Omahan who enjoys running, spending time with his family, golfing, and doing other outdoor activities. He enjoys science generally and how science can be applied to help people within the medical field.

He attended the University of Nebraska at Omaha for college before attending the University of Nebraska Medical Center for medical school and residency training in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics. He enjoys general medicine and working with learners including residents and medical students. He has an interest in medical education and medical education research.

Mentoring

Dr. Pachunka is a career and research mentor. His career interests include seeing adult and pediatric patients in clinic and then rounding in the adult hospital, teaching residents, journal club, critical appraisal topics, and research in quality improvement. His personal interests include spending time with his wife and kids, running and doing 10Ks, half marathons and the Market to Market Relay.
