Samia Asif, MBBS

Dr. Asif is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Hematology & Medical Oncology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC). She received her Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 2013 from the Army Medical College in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. Dr. Asif completed her internship and residency in Islamabad, Pakistan in 2017 before moving to Kansas City, MO to join the internal medicine residency program at the University of Missouri-Kasnsas City. During her internal medicine residency from 2017-2020, Dr. Asif was twice named resident of the month by the program at UMKC.

In 2020, she joined UNMC for hematology and medical oncology fellowship, which she completed in 2023. 

Dr. Asif is actively engaged in medical practice, teaching, and clinical research and specializes in the care of patients with breast cancer. 

Dr. Asif sees patients at the Bellevue Medical Cancer Center and the Fred & Pamela Buffett Cancer Center.

Dr. Asif's research interests include: supportive care for breast cancer patients during active treatment, and exploring cancer disparities related to gender, age, and rural/ urban geography, and bridging cancer care gaps.
