Kathy Healey, PhD
Dr. Kathleen Healey is a nurse practitioner and PhD in the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Program at UNMC and holds an assistant professor emeritus status. She has worked in the MS area since 1998. Dr. Healey received her undergraduate degree from the University of Miami and returned to her home state to complete her Master of Science of Nursing in 1991 at the University of Nebraska College of Nursing. She obtained her Nurse Practitioner Certification in 1996 and went on to complete her PhD in neuroscience in 2005. Her dissertation area was functional measures in MS and associations with MRI Parameters. She was named MS advocate of the Year in 1993 by the Nebraska Chapter of the Multiple Sclerosis Society. Dr. Healey has presented numerous programs on MS to patient and provider groups locally and regionally. She has presented her research nationally.
