Biography


Dr. Douglass Haas has received all his educational preparations from the UNMC College of Nursing. He received his BSN in December 2009, his MSN as an Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in May 2015, his PMC as a Family Nurse Practitioner in May 2018, and his DNP in May 2020. He is currently employed as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the UNMC College of Nursing-Kearney Division where he primarily teaches the Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner courses in the Spring and Fall Semesters. Dr. Haas also teaches in the Accelerated BSN program and Traditional BSN Externship during the Summer and is the Kearney Division SNA advisor throughout the school year.

Cardiology Nurse Practitioner at the Nebraska Heart Institute – Kearney Campus from (2015-2017).

CHI Health Good Samaritan Hospital as a Staff Nurse in the Progressive Care & Intensive Care Units as well as the Emergency Department (2009-2015).

President of the Nebraska Nurses Association (2018-2020).

Member of the American and Nebraska Nurses Association since January of 2010. Commission for Advocacy and Representation for 1 year, and the Nursing Professional Development Committee for 5 years and was chair of the committee for 4 of those years.
