Learning Opportunities

In addition to the many patient care learning opportunities, we have multiple formats for fellow learning:

Hem/Onc fellows discuss case sitting at desk

Non-Clinical Instruction

Traditional lectures with topics based on the Board Content Specifications and given by our faculty experts in each specific area. These occur about three times per month.
Multidisciplinary presentation of our neuro-oncology and solid tumor patients for clinical care discussion and education, occurring twice per month
Monthly meeting to review challenging Hematology patient cases, including their work-up, management, and teaching about their underlying diagnosis
Monthly meeting to review impactful literature. On a quarterly basis, these are held jointly with our Immunocompromised Infectious Disease group.
Monthly meeting with our Hematopathologist to review slides
Our third-year fellow takes us through a difficult case with the goal to improve system issues that impact the care of our patients; occurs twice per year.
Each team or disease group has monthly meetings that the fellows are welcome to attend to present their patients, ask clinical questions, and learn from the discussion of our patients. These teams include Liquid, Solid tumor, Neuro-Onc, Sickle cell, Bleeding disorder, and Bone marrow transplant (held jointly with the Denver team).
