We investigate a rare neurocutaneous disease, Sjogren-Larsson syndrome, caused by genetic deficiency of fatty aldehyde dehydrogense. Research projects range from clinical trials to biochemiccal and molecular studies to understand the pathogenic mechanisms of symptoms, develop new therapeutic approaches, and characterize the clinical features.

Areas of Interest
  • Lipid metabolism and particularly fatty alchols and aldehydes
  • Mutation analysis
  • Fatty acid metabolism
  • Clinical trials
