Our three-year program features a flexible curriculum tailored to each fellow’s interests, with opportunities to receive expertise in:
Neonatal Dialysis
As leaders in neonatal dialysis, our program offers fellows exposure to one of the nation’s foremost centers in neonatal kidney care.
Critical Care Nephrology
- Fellows receive extensive experience in continuous renal replacement therapy, intermittent hemodialysis, and acute peritoneal dialysis.
Transplantation
- The transplant program at University of Nebraska Medical Center offers comprehensive exposure to all aspects of transplant care, including patient evaluation, perioperative and immediate post-transplant management, long-term management, and participation in quality improvement and research initiatives.
Chronic Dialysis
As the only pediatric dialysis unit in the state, the Children’s Nebraska dialysis program provides fellows with comprehensive exposure to both hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
Research and Medical Education
Fellows receive the educational foundation required for board certification in pediatric nephrology, along with strong mentorship for those pursuing careers in clinical research or academic nephrology.
Fellows have a dedicated panel of patients whom they follow longitudinally throughout their training, fostering continuity of care and deeper clinical engagement.
