Karen A. Tucker, DDS, MD, FACS

Dr. Tucker is an oral and maxillofacial surgeon maintaining a full scope practice in the specialty. Her particular area of interest is in oral reconstruction with bone grafting and dental implants. She leads the implant education for the oral surgery residents and is focused on utilizing the latest technologies and advances in bone grafting and implant surgery to give her patients predictable outcomes. She regularly completes advanced continuing education in these areas to adopt cutting edge techniques and to be able to treat the most challenging cases.

She is board certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons and is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons.

In addition to her practice at UNMC, Dr. Tucker is passionate about service and participates in annual international surgery mission trips to help those in need in under served countries.

Dr. Tucker has various research interests in many areas of oral and maxillofacial surgery. She has presented research and published articles in topics of head and neck anatomy, dentoalveolar, implant and cleft surgeries.
