Dr. Eric Nagengast

Eric Nagengast, MD, is an assistant professor in the division of plastic and reconstructive surgery of the UNMC Department of Surgery.

Dr. Nagengast earned a bachelor's degree in biochemistry from the University of Southern California, where he graduated cum laude. He received his MD from UNMC, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honors Society.

He received a master's of public health from the University of Southern California. His comprehensive training includes an internship and residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine, as well as a global surgery fellowship with Operation Smile. Dr Nagengast completed a fellowship in craniofacial surgery at Children’s Hospital Los Angeles. 

Dr Nagengast has published extensively in the fields of plastic surgery, craniofacial surgery and global surgery. His passion for global health has taken him across the world furthering his understanding of complex craniofacial conditions and leading him to develop a unique patient centric method of care.
