DERMATOLOGY MEDICAL EDUCATION LEADERSHIP TEAM

The UNMC Department of Dermatology is excited to welcome medical students to complete a clerkship within our department. The dermatology medical education leadership team is headed by the Director of Medical Student Education, Dr. Megan Arthur, MD. Dr. Arthur is invested in the many types of learners that train in the department. She, along with clinic staff, welcomes the many learners that rotate through the department. Learners include residents, medical students, observers, shadowers, and visiting students. Dr. Arthur leads the planning for each learner so they can have straightforward learning experiences.

The faculty education leadership team in addition to Dr. Arthur includes Dr. Wysong Chair of the Department of Dermatology and Dr. Adams Residency Program Director. This team has worked hard to develop didactics, small group sessions, and clerkships that are enriching and engaging. Opportunities for medical students completing a clerkship include working with patients in a clinical setting, teledermatology, training with faculty that are experts in dermatology specialties, and offering real-world experience through clinics in general Dermatology, Rheumatology Dermatology, inpatient hospital consultations, Varicose Veins, Mohs surgery, dermatopathology, dermatologic surgery, laser/aesthetic dermatology, and multidisciplinary clinics (rheum-derm, CTCL, bullous, HIV derm, and others!).
