Hayley Moree is a medical student at the University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC) with a strong interest in infectious diseases, health equity, and public health preparedness. Currently, Hayley is collaborating on a project that supports the Region VII Special Pathogen Treatment Center (RESPTC). She is also actively involved in her class leadership where she serves as the Alumni Relations Chair. In addition, she is a student on the Biopreparedness and Biocontainment Enhanced Medical Education Track to further her understanding and solidify her interest in infectious disease and health security. 

 She earned her undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln (UNL), where she was a member of the Nebraska Honors Program and completed minors in Biochemistry, Gerontology, History, and Humanities in Medicine. Her research background includes extensive work in virology, particularly focused on West Nile Virus, through the Sexton Lab, where she investigated the role of fatty acids in viral infection. She has presented her work at institutional and national research symposia, including the American Society for Virology Conference. In addition to bench research, Hayley has clinical experience as a Patient Care Technician providing hands-on care to surgical and inpatient populations. Hayley has held multiple leadership roles, including serving as President of the Black Masque Chapter of Mortar Board on UNL's campus.

 Outside of academics, Hayley likes to read, spend time with her cat, and volunteer at the Women's Center for Advancement.
