- C-STARS
  C-STARS, the Center for Sustainment of Trauma Readiness Skills- Omaha is a collaboration between UNMC, Nebraska Medicine, and the Air Force Research Laboratory’s School of Aerospace Medicine. C-STARS Omaha works closely with UNMC’s Global Center for Health Security, iEXCEL, and the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit to take advantage of the medical center’s capabilities and expertise in biopreparedness training and research.

Jill Cornell, BSN, RN

Nursing Professional Development Specialist , Nebraska Biocontainment Unit

Jill Cornell joined the Nebraska Biocontainment Unit as a Nursing Professional Development Specialist in March 2026. She has been with Nebraska Medicine since 2014 and she graduated with her BSN from UNMC in 2017. Jill has spent the last 9 years working in Oncology at the Buffett Cancer Center with the last 7 working as an infusion nurse at the Werner Treatment Center. At the Treatment Center, she served as chair for the Clinical Practice Committee (CPC) and assisted in policy reviews, developing comprehensive downtime forms, and mentoring staff with go-live at remote Nebraska Medicine locations. She also collaborates on the education, training, and policy development for the National Quarantine Unit. Jill is currently working on my Master's in Nursing Education at Clarkson College.
