Effective Date of Coverage: First of the month following your hire date
Once your benefits enrollment has been submitted through Firefly, no changes are allowed until the next annual NUFlex enrollment period or an IRS Permitted Election Change Event occurs.
Enrollment Information Due: Online enrollment must be completed and verification documentation must be received by the Benefits Office within 31 days of your hire date. No exceptions can be made due to IRS regulation unless you have a Permitted Election Change Event.
Annual NUFlex Enrollment Period: NUFlex open enrollment takes place in the fall of each year. This is the only period you are able to make changes to your benefit plan, unless you have a change of status. Changes are made online through Firefly. Coverage is effective January 1 of the following year.
