Educational Excellence.
The UNMC Department of Neurosurgery offers the only neurosurgery residency training program in Nebraska, founded in 1994. As a team, we are dedicated to training the leaders of the next generation of neurosurgeons by imparting the knowledge, skills and values critical for surgeons. Our 7-year residency training experience offers access to ample university and community-based clinical volume along with exciting research opportunities. UNMC Neurosurgery faculty, in conjunction with residents and advanced practice providers, work together to provide a spectacular learning environment for medical students, visiting physicians and scientists, and graduate and undergraduate students.
Research and Innovation.
We strive to advance treatments for neurosurgical diseases in order to improve patient care and outcomes—for our existing patients as well as for future generations. As such, we are actively engaged in research that includes basic and translational neuroscience, medical device design and implementation, and clinical trials.
