Laura Flores

Laura Flores, MD, PhD, started her radiation oncology residency in 2025.

Why UNMC?

I think there is something very special about the people at UNMC. They are extraordinarily generous with their time, always taking the extra moment to teach, assist, or involve learners in their work. We also have a flexible department and beautiful facilities in Radiation Oncology.

Favorite part of residency?

My co-residents and running into my friends from other departments in the hospital Starbucks line.

Favorite things to do in Omaha?

I love spending time outdoors, going to the Omaha zoo, and trying new restaurants with my husband and friends. Omaha also has a great public library system, so I can often be found there, perusing the books!

Fun fact about yourself or things you like to do for fun?

I met my husband in medical school, and we got married at the Omaha Zoo. We have a three-legged cat named Meatball. I have a deep devotion to finding the best bean and cheese burrito in Omaha.
