Resident Application Process
The Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Nebraska Medical Center participates in the National Resident Matching Program. Applications are accepted through ERAS (Electronic Residency Application System). Match applications will go through the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP). Applications are reviewed by the department's Residency Selection Committee and selected applicants are invited to interview with the faculty and current residents.
UNMC selects three residents each year.
The residency includes:
Five years otolaryngology-head & neck surgery training
The opportunity for individual clinical or basic research
Residents provide services in the following area hospitals:
- Nebraska Medical Center
- Omaha Veterans Administration Hospital
- Children's Hospital
- Midwest Surgical Hospital

- General Ear, Nose & Throat
- Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery
- Craniofacial Anomalies
- Head and Neck Oncology
- Otology/Neurotology
- Care of the Professional Voice/Laryngology
- Rhinology and Sinus Disease
- Facial/Oral Prosthetics & Dental Oncology
- Allergy
- Pediatric Otolaryngology
- Sleep Surgery
- Transgender Cosmetic and Laryngeal Surgery
- Anterior and Lateral Skullbase Surgery
