Welcome to the University of Nebraska Medical Center!
We are excited that you have chosen UNMC to enhance your academic and professional backgrounds. The Office of Global Engagement (OGE) team serves as a key resource to the University’s community of international scholars and their families. We provide professional expertise and support to the scholars from the time of their arrival to their departure. We also help scholars maintain their immigration status and provide information about Social Security Numbers, tax information, and visa extensions, and change/adjustment of status.
The OGE is also here to assist UNMC departments with the immigration paperwork for international faculty, staff, and scholars who come to the university for research, teaching, observation, and other professional activities. You can find information on this website about the J-1, H-1B, O-1, TN, and permanent residency statuses in the Immigration and Visa Sponsorship section.
The OGE helps UNMC faculty and staff bring international scholars to UNMC for academic purposes. If you’re an international scholar interested in visiting or working at UNMC, you should contact academic departments or individual faculty members directly.
