Major Owen Caron currently serves as an Emergency Trauma Nurse at Malcom Grow Medical Center and the Executive Officer to the 316th Wing Commander and Installation Commander for Joint Base Andrews-Naval Air Facility Washington, Maryland. As the Executive Officer, Maj Caron leads the 316th Wing Command Section daily administrative functions supporting five wings, three headquarters, and over 80 tenant organizations, as well as 60,000 Airmen and families in the National Capital Region and around the world. As an emergency trauma nurse for the 316th Healthcare Operations Squadron, his mission is to mobilize, deploy, sustain medical services, and maintain the health of the force and delivering care for 500K eligible beneficiaries.
Major Caron hails from the small country town of Newburgh, Maine. After completing his Bachelor of Nursing degree in Boston, MA, he commissioned into the Air Force in 2014. His experiences include assignments as Medical/Surgical nurse, Emergency Trauma nurse. While assigned to the 673rd Healthcare Operations Squadron, Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, Alaska. Additionally, while assigned to Joint Base Elmendorf Richardson, he served as team lead on a 48-hour short tasking deployment to Guam supporting 100% critically and deathly ill civilians diagnosed with COVID in the height of the pandemic. He is married to Nicole and they have two sons.
