Alisha Dorn-Sheffield is an Infection Preventionist at Nebraska Medicine. She graduated from UNMC’s College of Nursing with her BSN and began her work as a nurse in the Operating Room and perioperative area. Her work at this surgical center progressed into running the Infection Prevention program with a focus on disinfection and sterilization. She joined the Nebraska Medicine Infection Prevention team in 2016 and served as the liaison for the ambulatory clinics, high level disinfection, procedural and inpatient areas. Alisha earned a Master's of Science in Nursing at Clarkson College in 2025 and her current role is dedicated to supporting GCHS programs focused on strengthening infection prevention and control programs and high consequence infectious disease response capabilities. Her priority areas of intereset include the training and education, integrating advanced technology into programming, and development of assessment tools and metrics for measuring program progress.
