LuAnn Larson

LuAnn Larson had eight years of experience as an ICU nurse before she became the manager of the pulmonary research department. With this valuable experience, she started the Clinical Research Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center and became the Director of Clinical Research Operations.  The CRC  has grown to 50 employees and provides all research services from start-up to close-out for UNMC faculty. In 2023 she became the manager of  the Special Projects Research Office.  LuAnn has been a part of the Special Pathogens Research Network since it was initiated. Her current role involves developing "Just-In-Time" training and rapid response to initiate clinical trials at all Regional Emerging Special Pathogens Treatment Center (RESPTC) sites. In addition to over 32 years of experience conducting clinical trials, monitoring trials, and managing the Clinical Research Center at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, she also worked to get the Special Pathogens Research (SPRN) involved with the Adaptive COVID-19 Treatment Trial in response to SARS-CoV-19 pandemic. LuAnn received a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Nebraska Methodist College.
