Sami Vasistha, MS
Program Manager
Sami has more than ten years of experience as an IT project manager. She joined Nebraska Medicine in 2015 and has since managed many clinical, IT, and process improvement projects such as the re-establishment of the Lung Transplant Program, the activation of Lauritzen Outpatient Center, activation of Buffet Cancer Center, and implementation of electronic prescription of controlled substances. Sami's role as a program manager at GCHS includes research, training, process improvement, and operational response programs. Sami has worked on multiple health security programs and initiatives including the National Emerging Special Pathogen Training and Education Center and the Special Pathogens Research Network. She is a PhD candidate in biomedical informatics at UNMC. Sami currently has a master's degree in management information systems and a bachelor’s in computer science and aviation administration from the University of Nebraska Omaha.
