University of Nebraska President Jeffrey P. Gold, MD, and UNMC Chancellor H. Dele Davies, MD, invite you to a groundbreaking ceremony of the Infectious Disease Air Transport (IDAT) facility and celebratory launch of UNMC's new Office for the Advancement of Military Medicine (OAMM) on Friday, Sept. 4th.

The exposition will showcase UNMC and partner programs supporting health security, preparedness and military medicine.

About the IDAT Facility & OAMM
IDAT Facility:
The IDAT facility will expand UNMC's role in national defense preparedness and extend programs offered by the United States Air Force C-STARS (Center for Sustainment of Trauma and Readiness Skills) Omaha Unit stationed at UNMC. The facility will house biocontainment transport modules and
an aircraft fuselage designed to provide advanced training for aeromedical, healthcare and response personnel on safe transport and care of patients affected by high-consequence infectious diseases.
OAMM:
The OAMM will coordinate support to programs and initiatives advancing military medical capabilities, preparing for strategic health threats, and strengthening civilian-military integration.
