Declaration of the End of the Ebola Outbreak in Uganda

(US Embassy Uganda) The Ugandan government, in coordination with the World Health Organization (WHO), declared the end of the Ebola Virus Disease (EVD) outbreak in Uganda on January 11, 2023.  Concurrently, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) rescinded its Level 2 Travel Health Notice related to Ebola in Uganda. The United States terminated its enhanced health screening at U.S. airports and public health monitoring for persons with recent travel to Uganda.  U.S.-bound passengers who have been in Uganda in the 21 days prior to their arrival will no longer be routed to one of the designated airports for enhanced screening.  The Ugandan government has lifted all travel and movement restrictions related to EVD in Uganda.
