2 cases of Legionnaires’ disease reported at Cincinnati hospital

Fox News Local and state health departments are testing the water at The Christ Hospital’s main campus after two people were diagnosed with Legionnaires’ disease.

The Christ Hospital Health Network told FOX19 NOW in a statement that the two cases appeared separately “over the past six weeks,” which would be some time between mid-September and the end of October.

Both people have since been diagnosed with Legionella pneumonia, which potentially came from The Christ Hospital’s main campus, although it is not confirmed, the hospital network said.

“While the exact source of exposure for these individuals is currently unknown, The Christ Hospital immediately initiated additional environmental testing protocols to identify any potential hospital-related sources and ensure maximum levels of safety,” The Christ Hospital Health Network wrote in a statement.
