Professional Summary
Hanna Grandgenett, PhD, PLP, is a Post-Doctoral Fellow in the Psychology Department at UNMC’s Munroe-Meyer Institute (MMI). Dr. Grandgenett completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and completed her predoctoral internship in Behavioral Pediatrics and Integrated Care at MMI. Prior to her time at MMI, Dr. Grandgenett has provided clinical services in a variety of environments including outpatient clinics, child advocacy centers, Early Head Start/Head Start programs, and residential settings. Dr. Grandgenett is trained in evidence-based practice, drawing from both behavioral and cognitive-behavioral approaches to partner with children, adolescents, and families to obtain their treatment goals.
Dr. Grandgenett has specialized training in the assessment and treatment of childhood trauma. She has provided individual and group treatment to children and adolescents who have experienced sexual and physical abuse and has conducted in-depth diagnostic assessments on children and adolescents who have experienced abuse and neglect. She collaboratively approaches trauma work with patients, using evidence-based approaches to help clients and families overcome the negative effects of trauma. Her clinical work is informed by her research, which focuses on violence prevention, trauma screening, and fostering supportive environments for abuse disclosure.
