Professional Summary
Lequisha Turner is a licensed clinical social worker and a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Psychology at the University of Nebraska Medical Center’s (UNMC) Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation (MMI). Dr. Turner currently works in the integrated primary care setting. Lequisha received her PhD in counseling psychology from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln after completing her internship training at MMI. She also has a master’s degree in social work from the University of Nebraska at Omaha and has over 15 years of experience practicing social work in the Omaha metro. Lequisha is a proud native of North Omaha who is focused on uplifting historically excluded communities through participatory action research. Her clinical and research interests include mental health and wellbeing in the Black community, multicultural counseling and college student identity development.
