Professional Summary

Wayne Stuberg, PT, PhD, PCS, FAPTA is Professor Emeritus of the Munroe-Meyer Institute for Genetics and Rehabilitation (MMI). He served as the Director of Clinical Services for MMI and as Director of the University Center of Excellence in Developmental Disabilities (UCEDD) program at MMI. Dr. Stuberg also served as the Associate Director of the Munroe-Meyer Institute.

He is board certified in pediatrics by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties, a past president of the Nebraska Physical Therapy Association and past chair of Board of Physical Therapy and Board of Health for the Department of Health and Human Services Division of Licensure and Credentialing. He served as the President of the UNMC Faculty Senate and as a consultant for the state of Nebraska on the Governor’s Early Childhood Interagency Coordinating Council and Department of Education’s Special Education Advisory Council. He is currently serving as a member of the Nebraska Council on Developmental Disabilities. 

Dr. Stuberg has presented at numerous state, national and international conferences on the topic of management of individuals with developmental disabilities. He has been recognized as an Outstanding Teacher of the Year at UNMC. Dr. Stuberg’s research interests are in the areas of gait analysis and outcomes of physical therapy treatment. He has been recognized as a Distinguished Researcher by the Section on Pediatrics of the American Physical Therapy Association and as a Distinguished Researcher by UNMC. More recently he has been involved in program evaluation projects provided by the MMI UCEDD program in collaboration with state agencies.
