Learn More About the Resident

Hometown: Sheridan, WY

Career aspirations: Generalist - I want to do it all!

What was your first job? I worked in a veterinary office as a kennel assistant. I got to take care of all the sweet dogs and cats while their owners were out of town. Although I love people (and delivering babies), my love for animals is big. I've never met a dog or cat that I didn't love.

What is the furthest you've traveled from Omaha? Seattle, WA is the farthest west I've been. I've been as far south as Mexico and as far east as the Bahamas. I love to travel! I'm hoping to make a Europe trip after graduation, and have a trip planned to St. Lucia.

If you couldn't work in medicine, what would you do? This is a tough one. I love to bake - so I could see myself as a cookie artist or cake decorator. I could also see myself as a professional travel blogger. Or better yet I could also now see myself as a stay-at-home mom. I love being an OB-GYN and residency has been such an adventure!

Best thing to do in Nebraska if you only had one day? Sleep in first - always. Wake up mid-morning and go to UNMC to spend my $10 meal-money at Starbucks for coffee for my husband and myself. Next, we would take our dog for a walk around the lovely park near our home. After that, maybe hit up the Henry Doorly Zoo to get some steps in and see my favorite exhibit - the sea lions. After the zoo, we'll find a place to eat brunch, get some groceries, and end the day with going to our favorite movie theater with reclining seats.

Most fond residency experience or memory up to this point? I just love doing anything with my co-residents. I think my favorite memories have been pool hangs at Beaudrie's apartment complex, and rescuing my feral kitten on the streets in my neighborhood with Krystina Peter (our HO3 class cat-whisperer).
