Training Facilities

The Children’s Nebraska is the only free-standing children’s hospital in the state of Nebraska. The Pediatric Emergency Department provided care to more than 35,000 children in 2021, serving the population in Nebraska, western Iowa, northern Kansas and southern South Dakota. Children’s is a level 2 trauma center and the only ACS pediatric verified trauma center in the state. The Children's Emergency Department is in the Hubbard Center, which opened August 2021.

University of Nebraska Medical Center Emergency Department is an adult level 1 trauma center and home to the Emergency Medicine Residency Program. The pediatric trained Fellow will rotate on the adult emergency medicine and adult trauma services during fellowship.

The Davis Global Center is a highly advanced simulation facility purposefully designed to foster the practice of patient care in high-functioning and effective interprofessional teams. The 192,000 sq. ft. facility is made up of five distinct levels that work together to create a safe and innovative learning environment. The Interprofessional Experiential Center for Enduring Learning (iEXCEL) headquartered in the Davis Global Center plays a critical role in education for medical students, residents, fellows, and faculty at the University of Nebraska Medical Center .
