Nebraska Medical Center is the region’s only 24/7 trauma center providing comprehensive care for adults and children. Patients are seen from all 50 states and from 47 countries. The institution is a regional leader in neurosciences and holds the Joint Commission Gold Seal of Approval for Advanced Certification in Comprehensive Stroke Centers.
Nebraska Medical Center also houses the Interprofessional Experiential Center for Enduring Learning (iEXCEL), which is a state-of-the-art 192,000 square foot simulation center featuring advanced clinical simulation, surgical skills, and visualization environments for both individual and interprofessional learning. The simulation center replicates clinic, hospital, ambulatory, biocontainment, and home care units for simulating incidents, events, and patient care scenarios, and has full tele-education, tele-presence, and tele-monitoring capabilities.

Children’s Nebraska is a 243-bed non-profit regional pediatric specialty health care center and the only free-standing children’s hospital in Nebraska. Patients are referred from throughout Nebraska, South Dakota, western Iowa, northern Kansas, northwestern Missouri, and beyond for the treatment of complex childhood diseases.
Children’s Nebraska includes a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Cardiac Care Unit, the region’s only Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and Fetal Care Center, and a Level 4 Pediatric Epilepsy Center, awarded the highest designation by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers (NAEC). The organization has more than 250 affiliated pediatric specialists and provides more than 50 pediatric specialty clinics for a variety of specialized needs. Children’s Nebraska is also accredited by the Joint Commission and is ranked by U.S. News & World Report as a Best Children’s Hospital in many specialties.
Children's Nebraska's Level 4 pediatric epilepsy center has the highest level of accreditation by the National Association of Epilepsy Centers.
