Pharmacy Technician Convention Award

The UNMC College of Pharmacy – Pharmacy Technician Program is excited to announce a first‑time annual opportunity to support past and present pharmacy technician students in attending a national professional conference.

Each year, two recipients will be selected to receive financial support to attend the American Association of Pharmacy Technicians (AAPT) 2026 Annual National Pharmacy Technician Convention. This opportunity is designed to encourage professional growth, leadership, and continued engagement in the pharmacy technician workforce.

Award Details & Important Information

Two selected recipients will receive:

  •  $500 awards to help cover travel and hotel expenses
  • 50% of the AAPT convention registration fee covered
  • Exposure to national-level education, networking, and professional development opportunities

To be eligible to apply, applicants must:

  • Be a current or former student of the UNMC College of Pharmacy’s Pharmacy Technician Program
  • Commit to attending the AAPT Annual National Convention
  • Submit a completed application by the stated deadline

Applicants must attend the convention to receive the award.

Award recipients will be selected based on:

  • Demonstrated leadership and involvement in the pharmacy technician workforce
  • Commitment to professional development
  • Expressed passion for attending and engaging in the national convention experience

    A link to the online application is posted below. The application includes a brief information form and a required personal statement.
  • Application Deadline:
    April 30, 2026 (early submission encouraged)

  • Winner Notification:
    Award recipients will be announced on May 5, 2026

In 500 words or fewer, explain your interest in attending the AAPT Annual National Convention and how it supports your professional goals in your pharmacy technician career.

Your statement should reflect your background, motivation, and the impact attending the convention may have on your career, workplace, patients, or community. You may use examples from your education or work experience.

  • The $500 award will be provided by check after the convention, upon submission of proof of attendance.
  • Selected recipients will receive a direct link from AAPT to pay 50% of the convention registration fee.
  • The recipient’s portion of the registration fee:
    • Is non‑refundable
    • Must be paid within five days of winner notification
