Adi M. Pour, PhDDr. Pour is the Director of the Douglas County Health Department. She has been in that position since October 1, 2002 where she oversees a department with 130 employees and a budget of $16.2 million. Before that, Dr. Pour was the State Toxicologist with the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services for 13 years.

Dr. Pour received her PhD and her Master’s degree in Toxicology from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and completed a post-doctoral fellowship at Creighton University. Dr. Pour is a scientific reviewer for the American Public Health Association.

Dr. Pour is the recipient of the 2007 J.G. Elliot Award given by the University to an individual for advancing health care throughout Nebraska, as well as for outstanding contributions to the University of Nebraska Medical Center. Also in 2007, she was awarded the Public Service Excellence Award for Professional Service, Excellence and Dedication by the Nebraska Chapter of the American Society for Public Administration, and in the same year, Dr. Pour received the Distinguished Service Award from the Nebraska Infection Control Network.

Dr. Pour serves on several local non-profit boards and is at this time the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Safety Council, Greater Omaha Chapter; the Vice-Chair of the Governing Board of the Domestic Violence Council; the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of Project Extra Mile; and the Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Omaha Urban Area Health Education Center (AHEC).
