UNMC College of Dentistry Student Computer Requirements
All College of Dentistry students are required to bring their own wireless computing device (iPad or laptop). Examples of how these devices will be utilized include but are not limited to: retrieving and viewing lecture notes or presentation slides; viewing videos; taking examinations; completing elearning modules; remote proctoring of exam takers and other basic computing tasks (word processing, PDF reader) as well as internet-based activities (research, email, web conferencing, exams, Canvas).
While your mobile phone will be useful during your time at the College of Dentistry, it is not an appropriate device for some of the tasks you will need to perform during your education. Android tablets are not supported by our testing software and therefore cannot be used to meet your device requirement.
We highly recommend the use of an iPad to take advantage of resources used within the program(s).
Minimum System Requirements:
- Please review the minimum requirements for ExamSoft, the software used for computer-based testing in the College of Dentistry. Meeting these minimum requirements ensures that your device is compatible for examinations. However, we recommend that you go above the minimum requirements since the device will most likely be used for other activities during your education.
