Regional Anesthesiology and Acute Pain Medicine Fellowship
Our fellowship offers the opportunity to develop expertise in a wide variety of cutting-edge regional and neuraxial techniques, along with other comprehensive acute pain management strategies.
Our one-year program earned ACGME accreditation in 2019. It is based out of UNMC and its primary clinical partner, Nebraska Medicine, a large tertiary care center and level one trauma center.
Our fellows can expect a robust clinical experience with the opportunity to personally perform and assist in teaching residents various ultrasound-guided regional techniques. Currently, our residents perform nearly 400 peripheral nerve blocks upon graduation. The APS service, consisting of a staff anesthesiologist, one fellow, one or two residents, and two physician assistants, typically maintains a census of 20 to 30 inpatients for which we are the lead service with respect to pain management.
Our team supplements the clinical experience with a structured educational platform to help the fellow truly become an expert in this sub-specialty of anesthesiology. Additionally, suitable non-clinical time will be provided for academic endeavors.
Locations include the Nebraska Medicine's main campus, Nebraska Medicine Village Pointe and Children's Nebraska.

Application Process
One position is available per year, and prospective fellows must have successfully completed an Anesthesiology residency at an ACGME-accredited residency program.
