Professional Summary
Amy Beyersdorf is a Physical Therapist in the department of physical therapy at the UNMC Munroe-Meyer Institute. Amy came to MMI as a student, was hired the same year, and has never left! With more than 20 years of pediatric experience, she has expertise in school and early intervention settings as well as out-patient, medical programs. Amy received her board certification in pediatric physical therapy in 2014. As coordinator of MMI out-patient PT services, she provides services in home, daycare, and other community based venues because children and families are best served in natural environment. Passionate about clinical teaching, Amy serves as a PT residency faculty member, and coordinates a biomedical engineering partnerships between MMI and UNL for senior design projects. Amy participates with Tracking Infant Progress Statewide (TIPS), a NICU follow-up clinic, and is a certified car seat specialist. Having grown up in Latin America, Amy is fluent in Spanish and routinely uses this skill when serving MMI clients. Amy volunteers for community programs including TOPS Soccer, GoBabyGo! Nebraska! and various other events such as the Buddy Walk (Down Syndrome Alliance). She has previous experience with hippotherapy, is a regular at region 19 planning meetings, and is currently training a therapy dog for service. Amy is passionate about all children and feels each deserves every opportunity to grow and reach their dreams.
